More distance, with control means that you will have shorter distances to the hole. This makes life a whole lot easier. Also hitting a shorter iron technically increases your chances of getting a hole-in-one.

So how exactly do you get more distance? The most direct way is to increase your flexibility. Stretching goes a long way to improving your distance. The more flexible you are the more clubhead speed you can generate. The second avenue is to hit the gym. Getting more physical strength will also give you more yards.

The last step or avenue is to get fitted for your driver. Using the wrong shaft can cost you a lot of distance. Golf shafts are known as a being the engine of the golf club so if you have the wrong engine, you’re in trouble. It can also affect your accuracy. If the shaft is too soft for you, you could find yourself missing it all over the map. Another warning sign is if your tee shot takes off like an airplane. That is if your ball starts off low and rises sharply. This means that you are spinning the ball too much and you need to find a driver and shaft combination that reduces the spin.

Now before we let you go, our last tip is to take a look at our hole-in-one insurance. It’s flexible and affordable. Our goal is to please all of our clients. Our hole in one insurance has helped give away prizes ranging from cash prizes to a brand new BMW. So take your pick! Foresite Sports is our name and premier hole-in-one insurance is our game.

Robert Allenby's Hole In One

Who said the PGA Tour without Tiger Woods would be boring? Whoever said that was oh so wrong. These guys can seriously play. The last event that they played was at the revered Doral Blue Course which is infamously dubbed as the “BLUE MONSTER.” It truly is a challenging course with a lot of intricacies.

Firstly, Florida courses have Bermuda grass, which can be tough to negotiate. Chipping from it is not easy at all and reading Bermuda greens is an acquired skill. Take it from us at Foresite Sports when we say that bent grass is a lot easier to putt from. On top of this the Blue Course at Doral can get very windy. If you thought it ended there you’re wrong. There is a lot of water! What’s even more intimidating is that on the holes with water the greens are angled towards the water and the water definitely comes into play off the tee.

Anyways, Foresite Sports would like to congratulate Robert Allenby who holed out on the 13th hole. This is a tough par three that is over 220 yards and unfortunately plays right into the teeth of the wind. Most pros are satisfied with just hitting the green here. That’s if they can get it there! What’s even more surprising is that in the history of all the pro events played at the BLUE MONSTER there has never been a ace on this hole. Robert Allenby corrected this with an unforgettable golf shot. He didn’t end up winning the tournament but this was a highlight of the event. Making a birdie on that hole isn’t common, let alone an ace. Great shot!

Holes in one should be rewarded and Foresite Sports makes this happen. We make it possible for tournament directors to give away grand prizes at their events. To find out more check us out online or call us directly at 888 882 5440. We can’t wait to hear from you.

A Fast Path to Better Golf & More Hole In One Shots

Foresite Sports recognizes that golfers tend to be perfectionists. This game puts a lot of pressure on its players to improve. As you already know, a frustrating round full of bad shots can be instantly offset by one good shot that makes you want to come back to the game. In a nutshell, most golfers are always asking themselves this question:

“What’s the best/quickest way for me to improve?”

Well, we at Foresite Sports have the magic formula. You’re probably wondering what that is? Well it has to do with every shot from 100 yards and in. Putting is an essential part of this game, and every successful professional golfer on the planet will attest to this. Whether you hit it as short as Corey Pavin or as freakishly long as Bubba Watson, you should aim to be a good putter. Next up is the little short shots around the green. If you are afraid of flubbing a chip or being in a bunker, then you’re in trouble. The only way to overcome this is to get some tips from a teaching pro and to practice.

How many shots does it take for you to get the ball into the hole from 60 to 100 yards out? Two, three, four, or five? Well, this part of golf is often overlooked. What good are great drives if you struggle to get the ball into the hole? So make sure that you give this some attention. You should also give Foresite Sports some attention. Foresite Sports provides great hole in one insurance at affordable prices. The weather is warming up and golfers everywhere are excited. Golf Outings with hole in one insurance definitely attract a lot of players, so make sure that your tournament director knows about us.

Start the Season With A Hole In One

As the snow is starting to melt and the rain clouds are clearings, more and more golfers are hitting the links. Starting the season in March is risky for some golfers because the course conditions are not at their finest and the cold and windy weather definitely takes a toll on the game. This was not the case however at The Golf Club at Cedar Creek in Wisconsin. Gary Heintz of La Cross, WI headed out on Cedar Creek last Tuesday for his first round of the year where he hit is second hole in one of his lifetime. Heintz must have made quite a few trips to the driving range over the winter months because the hole in one came on only the third hole of the round. Gary hit a 4-iron to reach the 165 yard green on the par 3 hole, he quoted “we saw the ball hit and it trickled right toward the hole and went in.”

This was the first hole in one recorded for the course this season, with the course opening at 10am and Gary acing the third hole shortly before noon. This wasn’t Heintz’s only hole in one. His first came quite a while back. Gary first hit a hole in one at the young age of 12. Now 56 Heintz still hasn’t lost his swing! Group member Tony Roberts reported that Heintz was at the top of his game last Tuesday as he almost hit another hole in one on the 7th hole. Congrats to Gary and good luck with the rest of the season!

With Tiger Out, Villegas Is The Player To Watch

With Tiger Woods still out of the golf world, the new player making a strong name for himself is Camilo Villegas. Villegas, a Colombia native came to the US to play golf for the Florida State Gators. In the pro sports arena he is known for his long blonde hair and stylish outfit choices on the golf course. He also goes by the nickname “Spider-Man,” which came about based on his flexible low to the ground stance when reading his putts. In the last couple weeks Villegas has been at the top of this game.First he made a strong play for third place in the Phoenix Open after missing a short putt that kept him out of the winning group. Even more recently he improved his putting skills and was able to take the Honda Classic, his first PGA tour win since September 2008.

Camilo set himself up to take The Honda Classic going into the final round with a 3-shot lead over his competitors and started the final round strong, birding four out of the first ten holes. The back nine however was a different story; Villegas lost some of his focus and bogeyed three holes. The American Andrew Kim was on his heels on most of the back nine however with a couple of slip ups and bogey’s on the back nine, Villegas was able to keep his cool and secure his win by sinking a 19 foot birdie putt on the 18th. Overall he finished 2 under for the day and 13 under par overall with Kim finishing in second. No hole in one for Camilo in this event but we at Foresite Sports like his style!

Second Hole In One For Blind Golfer

John Morrison, a 66 year old golfer has had is ups and downs on the golf course. A golfer all his life, Morrison, originally from Ireland, lost his left eye in a golfing accident at Jacks Point Golf Course in New Zealand where Morrison resides in the summer. Although the injury was unfortunate and no doubt horrifying, it hasn’t stopped this avid player from hitting the links. Morrison enjoys playing in competitions and in his last tournament he achieved a golfer’s biggest goal, for the second time! Morrison scored a hole in one on hole number 14, a 172 yard par 3 at Arrowtown Golf Course in New Zealand. Being blind in one eye makes it difficult for Morrison to see all of his shots; however this shot was blind to the whole group. The hole doglegs making the green impossible to see from the tee box, it wasn’t until one of the group members went up to the green to find Morrison’s ball sitting in the cup.

John will continue to play golf and hopes to hit a couple for aces before his career is over. He was once a three handicap, before the accident, and now at a seven or eight he still manages to par’s the course at Arrowtown. Morrison received a $100 gift card for getting his hole in one that was mostly spent at the bar celebrating with this fellow golfers after the round! US Hole In One congratulates John Morrison on his amazing accomplishment!

A Healing Golf Story

Many people claim that golf has helped them to heal, both emotionally and physically. That may be said of one boy who was hit in a tragic car accident less than a year ago. The teen, was able to recover from remarkable odds and then, back on the golf course, he hits a hole in one! Talk about impressive.

Imagine being a 14 year old on the golf course. You may not have known much about the game, but you loved it. Men twice or even three times his age have been unable to accomplish the hole in one that Brad Patton did!

Brad was recently involved in a car accident. He was hit by a Dodge Dakota in October of 2008. The accident left him with a variety of injuries including brain damage, a broken back and a broken femur. He was just 14 at the time of the accident. The vehicle hit him dead on and threw him some 45 feet into the air.

According to the Oakland Press, Brad said, "All of the doctors didn't think I would talk, they didn't know if I would even survive." He continues, "I feel extremely lucky."

But, this is not all of the story of the Sylvan Township, Michigan boy. He took to the golf course at Union Lake Golf Course in July of 2009. In doing so, he was able to hit a hole in one on a 125-yard hole. That is impressive for anyone, not just a 14-year-old boy, still recovering from a horrible accident. From all accounts it doesn’t sound like Brad won a prize for his hole in one but sometimes the feat itself can be sweeter than any prize!

Two Holes In One For Michigan Native

Some golfers go their whole golf career without ever hitting a hole in one. The odds of hitting a hole in one for an average golfers are 1 in 12,500 and is by no means an easy accomplishment for anyone stepping foot onto the links. When and if a golfer scores his first ace the process involves a lot of celebration. First the situation seems unbelievable; the foursome jumps up and down on the tee box and usually ends the day buying rounds of drinks for the clubhouse in celebration. From that point on the golfer has a story to tell for years to come. Now take the greatness of that situation and repeat it two days later, this is exactly what happened to Jim Voss when he scored his first hole in one on Tuesday then another ace on Thursday.

Voss, a Michigan native, spends his winters in Hudson, Florida and has partial golf membership at River Ridge Golf Course in New Port Richey, Florida. Voss’s first hole in one was on number 9, a par 3 95-yard hole using a 9 iron. Number 9 is a short hole but by no means an easy par 3. The green lies behind a sand trap so the foursome was unable to witness the ball going in the hole but found it in the cup when they traveled down to the green. The second hole in one, just two days later, was on a longer par 3, playing 132 yards, Voss used his 8 iron. Voss did get to see this ace as hit landed about 3 feet from the hole and dropped right into the cup. Voss is known around the course as a great golfer and two aces in 48 hours further proves his great abilities! Congratulation to Jim Voss!

Birdies for Babies: Pros Swing for March of Dimes!

The Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Club in La Jolla, California is putting a new twist on the last two days of the tournament in order to benefit the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes is an organization that focuses its attention to research and education to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Farmers, a leading fund-raiser for the March of Dimes set up a program called “Birdies for Babies” that was able to get the professional’s involved in raising money for a good cause. During the third and the final round of play on January 30th and 31st Farmers Insurance Group donated $100.00 for every birdie, $1,000.00 for every eagle, and $100,000.00 for every hole in one made by the professionals.

CEO of Farmers Insurance Group, Bob Woudstra, believes very strongly in the March of Dimes Foundation and was quoted “to be able to combine great golf and an even better cause is a true hole in one for all of us at Farmers.” Farmers is the second largest contributor to the March of Dimes for fundraising. In 2009 the insurance company raised over $4.8 million!

The Birdies for Babies was a huge success at Torrey Pines this year, in total the company raised $60,800 just based on the pro’s work alone. Overall there were 528 birdies and 8 eagles. Since none of the professionals scored an ace that day Farmers regardless pledged $100,000 in the name of Nick Watney, the 2009 champion.

Beating the Odds- One Round, Two Aces, Same Foursome!

When Julian Williamson and Graham Young started their round last week they never expected such excitement! The two headed out on Carolina Country Club with two other golfers to play the same course they had played many times before. It seemed like a normal round of golf, until they arrived at the back nine. The excitement started on hole number 11 at Carolina, a 150 yard par 3. Williamson hit an 8-iron to come up short, about six inches from the hole, after making contact on the green the ball rolled the short distance directly into the cup. The foursome was ecstatic, everyone was able to see the ball hit the green and roll straight into the cup! Spirits were up as they continued on and two holes later, on number 13 the 188-yard hole, Young hit a 4-iron straight at the hole. Similar to Williamsons shot, the ball landed in front of the hole and rolled right in.

Both visible hole in one shots by two different people in the same foursome! US Hole In One found that the odds of an average golfer hitting a hole in one in a single round is about 1 in 3,125 however two people in the same foursome is quite a feat! For both golfers this was their second career ace and with handicaps of 5 and 6 these two golfers look like they may have more holes in one in their future. On Young’s first hole in one he actually won a Buick and hopefully for his third ace he will be able to receive another prize! Congrats Julian and Graham!

394 Yard Hole In One!

What’s the world’s longest hole in one on record? US Hole In One was able to discover that, back in July of 2002 in Colorado, one man drove the ball 517 yards on a par 5 hole and made a hole in one! Now the following story doesn’t qquite match up to the 500+ yard ace, however Tim Dougherty has a lot to brag about with his almost 400 yard hole in one.

Dougherty, an American from Iowa, was visiting New Zealand and playing Shandon Golf Club when the hole in one occurred. He hit a driver on the second hole, 394 yards, to score an ace on what is known as one of the courses hardest holes. Dougherty did not see the ball go in the hole, he describes the flight of the ball as right to left and the group searched for the ball for about five minutes before deciding to look in the hole. Needless to say the group was in shock and amazement of the incredible shot.

Dougherty is known around the club house as a big hitter and his 6 ft 3 inch build helps with the power behind his drives. There was not much doubt that Dougherty could hit the ball that far but as the pro at the course Glenn Naylor describes, “to hit it 394 yards and get it within the confines of a hole is pretty amazing.” This was Dougherty’s first ace and it looks like with his power there will be plenty more to come!

Our Hole In One New Years Resolution

So dear readers, what is your New Year’s resolution? Is it to become a better person, or is it to become a better golfer? 2009 has been an interesting year. It saw the passing away of Michael Jackson and Brittany Murphy. It also saw the destruction of Tiger Woods’ false and squeaky clean image.

On the positive side of things, four golf major champions were rewarded for their stellar play in 2009. Angel Cabrera won the Masters. He was the last man standing, and the only one wearing the coveted green jacket after a three way playoff with Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry. Next up was the US Open where Lucas Glover’s ballstriking was second to none. Then came the British Open, where Stuart Cink came out on top, at the misery of Tom Watson. The PGA Championship ended the year as Y.E. Yang upset the tournament’s favorite, Tiger Woods.

There is one thing that we do know about 2009 and that is the fact that it was a good year for hole in one insurance. Our client pool is growing and we are proud of the hole-in-one insurance that we offer. It is affordable as well as flexible. We organized coverage for prizes ranging from cash prizes all the way to brand new cars. So, if you are interested make sure that you start 2010 right. Will golf in 2009 be better than that in 2010 or will 2010 be better? Only time will tell.

What we do know is that the 2010 PGA Tour season will be exciting. Four Majors still have to be played which is a good thing. First the Masters in April, then the US Open at Pebble Beach in June. This will be followed by the British Open Championship in July which will be played at the home of golf, St Andrews. The PGA Championship will then be played at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. All this proves that 2010 will irrefutably be a good golfing year.

Hopefully, there will be a lot of holes-in-one in 2010. Holes-in-one, as you all know, are pretty exciting to watch on TV. Will they be on long holes or short ones? Also, will there be multiple hole in one shots at a tour event like at the 2009 BMW Championship. Will Leif Olson do the unthinkable and make another hole in one?

One thing that you can definitely bank on is that Foresite Sports will keep doing what it does best. Our hole in one insurance is available in all states. YES IN ALL STATES! So don’t miss out. Whatever prize you would like to give out, Foresite Sports can make it happen. Also you wouldn’t want any aces to go unrewarded. That’s what happens when there is no hole-in-one insurance and it’s not for the best. Making a hole in one is a special accomplishment but doing that with the bonus of receiving a prize has to be better. So, if you want to make the change, you can visit is online or you could call us at 888-882-5440. We really look forward to working with you.

What Do I Do If I Have to Reschedule My Hole In One Insurance?

Some of our clients out there are lucky enough to have beautiful, 80 degrees and sunny weather year round however most of us aren’t so lucky! Golf.com has assembled a great list of golf courses from Florida to California and even Hawaii that are just waiting to wash away those winter blues.

Doral Golf Resort and Spa, located just 12 miles from the beach in Miami, is an exquisite, top-rate course. Though quite challenging with its often windy conditions from the ocean breeze and more than 100 bunkers, golfers who have played there before suggest you brush up on your sand shot. Other than that, what can be better than playing a course where so many famous golfers have once played? Doral Golf Resort’s course, The Blue Monster, has also recently been named an official TPC course.

Considering the West Coast? Palm Springs, CA, is home to Escena Golf Club. Escena recently re-opened in 2009 and was remodeled during the two years that the club was closed. There is now a brand new 16,000 square foot clubhouse for you to relax in after a long day on the course. One of the best parts about Escena though is its affordable pricing and playable course. The back drop isn’t too shabby either, set in the beautiful mountains of the Coachella Valley.

Hawaii also boasts a plethora of fabulous golf courses, some well-known while others are considered to be clandestine jewels of the Aloha State. The Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort, in Kapalua, Maui, is best known for the annual winners only PGA opener. The tournament will take place from January 4-10, 2010 and golfers will be competing for their share of $5.6 million. Puakea Golf Course, a less known course, is located in Lihue, Kauai. Last year Golf Magazine ranked Puakea #14 on their list of best courses in Hawaii. It features many unique holes, including #6, a quite treacherous, downhill par-3 in the middle of the jungle!

Whether you choose the east or west coast or even the tropics of Hawaii you are sure to escape the winter weather even if it is for just a couple of days! You never know, you might even be lucky enough to stumble upon a golf tournament that’s looking for golfers. If you’re really lucky though they’ll have hole in one insurance covered by US Hole In One!

Make a Hole In One and You Can Be Like These Guys!

Guam is the focus of this blog article. Why? This is because there is some hole in one activity there. Recently Pac Sports and Matson hosted the 3rd Annual Mount Carmel School Tournament at the Talofofo Onward Golf Course. Sounds like an interesting place to play some golf.

Well during this tournament two lucky golfers made holes in one. According to the Pacific News Center Peter Yu shot his hole-in-one on the 14th hole winning $7600 in gas and $2400 in cash from SPPC. Then less than 30 minutes later, Mike Castro sank his hole-in-one on the 2nd hole and won a brand new Toyota Venza from Atkins Kroll. Wow guys! $7600 in gas should last for a long time and driving a new Toyota sounds great. All because of one golf shot? The tournament director also mentioned that not only were there two holes in one, but there were also 4 near misses that could have easily resulted in other golfers winning tens of thousands of dollars.

The main question is how are all these holes in one rewarded? After all tens of thousands of dollars is a lot of money. These giveaways are only possible if you have hole in one insurance. Affordable hole-in-one-insurance is what every wise tournament director looks for. Foresite Sports provides this hole-in-one insurance so we are always working round the clock to make sure that most golfers who make holes-in-one are rewarded with cash prizes, cars or even a vacation. The good news is that you are a hole-in-one away from being one of those golfers. All you have to do is tell your tournament director to work with us. That way the members at your club will be getting what they deserve. Our contact number is 888 882 5440.

What’s Your Most Memorable Golf Memory?

Golf is a fantastic game in its purest form. In many ways it resembles life. It teaches young children about etiquette and integrity. In golf, it is your responsibility to call a penalty upon yourself whenever you do something wrong. It is a gentleman’s game. Every weekend golfers all across the country meet new people on the golf course. Foresite Sports attests that lifetime friendships can be made on a golf course, as well indelible moments. So what is your most memorable moment on a golf course?

Was it winning a tournament? During the heat of competitive golf adrenalin finds its way into your blood and gives you a rush. That’s why some say that winning I addictive. Or was it a moment with a child or parent? Numerous parents teach their children how to play golf. It is a great bonding activity that is fun and productive. Golf jokes are present in abundance. A lot of them are funny too. Was it a joke that a playing partner made that had you laughing uncontrollably like an infant?

Or maybe was it a hole in one? The most sought after golf shot. How happy did it make you feel? Were you on top of the world? Did you have to buy the whole clubhouse drinks? Or, were your playing partners kind enough to buy you drinks?

So what’s in store in the future? What’s going to be your next memorable golfing event? We would be emphatic if it is a hole in one on a par 3 hole that is insured by Foresite Sports. That would be truly memorable, because you could walk away with a prize. This prize could be anything from a car to a cash prize depending on what the tournament director has in mind. So, what are you waiting for? Feel free to tell the tournament director at your golf club about us. We are Foresite Sports and we can be contacted at 888 882 5440.

10 holes in one…in one day?

Once again the latest hole in one news has us shaking our heads. The Star Tribune of Minneapolis, Minnesota reported on their website that “on July 2 at area courses, at least 10 golfers had holes-in-one and had them reported to the Star Tribune.” The report goes on to say that “for some it was their first and for others it was a second (or third) time around. Two came at the same course, on the same hole.” The Star Tribune managed to get 9 out of the 10 people to describe their indelible experiences.

The first account comes from Bob Steffen who aced the 175th 8th hole at Dwan golf course. He used a 6 iron and he said:

"I hit it a little short of the hole, but it rolled up on the back lip," Steffen said. "From where I stood, I thought it had stayed there. But then I got closer and I saw it was gone. It was in the hole.

The next stroke of excellence came from Lorraine Neuberger’s purely struck 5 wood shot made its way into the 16th hole at Meadowbrook Golf Course.

"Pure luck," she said. "It's nothing to brag about. If I was a championship golfer, maybe I could consider it skill, but for me, I just get lucky."

The article then took us to Wayzata Country Club where Linda Kiernan made a hole in one on the 17th hole. Her account was a follows:

"I saw it tracking toward the hole and, amazingly, it went in. I'm like 'Thank you Jerry, thank you!'"

Jerry is her loving husband who passed away. "He's why I learned to play," she said.

Lauryn Job and Scott Machut are next up. Lauryn’s ace came on the 97 yard 17th hole at Medina Golf & Country Club. She used a 52 degree wedge to get the job done. Scott followed suit on the 17th hole. His 9 iron from 132 yards had only one destination…the hole! "It's just fantastic," he said.

Next up is Doug Dehn whose hole in one came at Shadowbrooke Golf Course’s 9th hole. He hit a 5 wood from 160 yards.

Nowadays tour pros are booming their drivers over 300 yards. But who says you HAVE to hit it that far. Jake Halbert hit a precise driver on a 234 yard par 3. So precise that it went into the hole. His account to the Star Tribune :
"The wind was strong, I promise," Halbert said, tongue planted firmly in cheek.

The final two holes in one came from Tony Gutterman and Paul Nelson. Tony hit a 215 yard fade with a purely struck 5 iron whilst Paul Nelson’s hole in one is being called the mystery ace. This is because no one has been able to get his account. Now that was an action packed day!Our congratulations go out to all these people.

On a closing note, make sure you tell your tournament director about us. Foresite Sports is the name, affordable insurance is the game.

A Couple of Tips for Better Par 3 Scoring

Most high handicappers dread par 3 holes. Foresite Sports doesn’t have the same perspective though. We love holes in one. Why? Mainly because we provide hole in one insurance and love to see people occasionally make one. The rewards are great too. We’ve helped give away grand prizes that include: brand new cars, vacation packages and $100,000 cash prizes.

So this time we are going to give you some simple tips that will improve your ballstriking. The first is to ALWAYS check your alignment. They say, “What’s the point of firing a gun if it’s not aimed at anything.” Well if you want to get that first hole-in-one it helps if you aim right. So make sure that u adopt a stance where your feet, hips and shoulders are square.

The next tip addresses your grip. Ben Hogan, one of the best ball-strikers of all time, firmly believed that good golf starts with a good grip. A flawed grip will cause unwanted hooks and fades that will result in your tee shot going way offline. He made a lot of holes-in-one so he knew what he was talking about. Some of the world’s best players idolized him.

The world’s best iron players all have a common trait. At impact their hands are always ahead of the ball. High handicappers try to scoop the ball up in the air and their hands tend to be behind the ball at impact. This causes them to top the ball or hit it fat. Instead they should start their downswing by shifting their left hip if they’re right-handed or their right hip if they’re left-handed. This should allow them to hit down on the ball and compress the ball. Another way to think of compression is to squeeze the ball into the ground with your clubface at impact.

These tips might not get you a hole-in-one, but they will hopefully improve your iron play and shave some strokes off of your game. We are Foresite Sports and we do care about. If you need hole-in-one insurance or other contest services for golf outings call us at 888-882-5440.

Four Year Old Gets Hole In One

What a story we have here! A toddler recently did the unthinkable. According to the Sun Sentinel in Florida Alex Heard made his first hole in one. The article on www.sunsentinel.com says that, “it was a hot and muggy afternoon in Boca Raton, and after playing six holes, Diane Heard asked her son Alex if he wanted to quit so they could go home and take a swim.”

However the persistent youngster convinced his mother to keep going. What happened next is described in the same article as follows:

“Alex's father, Rick, teed up the ball, and Alex took out his driver, looked at the flag about 80 yards away sitting up on a hill, and swung. The contact was solid, the ball went straight and bounced up the hill, onto the green and rolled into the hole.”

"A lot of screaming," is how Alex remembers the moment, as mom, dad and Alex jumped around on the tee.

"He's pretty accomplished for his age, but I never expected that, not this soon," Rick Heard said.

“Alex, who is 3 feet, 5 1/2 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds, was destined to take up the game, since his father is a PGA teaching professional.”

Another interesting thing that we learned from reading this article is that, “Alex was 4 years and 223 days old, with Guinness listing an age of 4 years and 195 days for Christian Carpenter, who did it in North Carolina in 1999.” Now that’s amazing!

Now we move to the world of professional golf. This week’s big event is the WGC Bridgestone Invitational where the best of the best will be going at it. Tiger Wood’s, Phil Mickelson and many others are competing. Make sure you don’t miss it. Granted the odds are against you and luck is a big factor, following these steps will give you the best chance possible.

Firstly we advise you get a couple of lessons from a PGA Professional. This professional will help you improve your golf swing. The fundamentals of a good golf swing should never go unnoticed. First your alignment should be spot on. This means that your feet, hips and shoulders should be aligned parallel-left to your target. The best way to imagine this is to think of two parallel railway tracks. Your feet are on the inner track and your target line is the outer track. Once you align yourself correctly you are closer to making that hole-in-one. The professional will then teach you how to make a powerful backswing and through swing.

Next your clubs should be fitted to your body type. A bad carpenter does blame his or her tools but when it comes to golf your “tools” have to match your body. That way you can stay in your posture and send that little ball into the cup for a hole-in-one.

Visualization is important! You need to see that hole-in-one happening and yourself driving away in that brand new car, thanks to the presence of hole-in-one insurance. That should make for a smooth drive with your hair blowing in the wind. Speaking of hole-in-one insurance, where do you plan on getting it from? Well Foresite Sports is your best bet. Our hole-in-one insurance is affordable and definitely provides the prizes that you want. In the past we have given away numerous BMW’s, vacation trips and cash prizes. If you want to know more you could always look at our website.

Golf In The Olympics

It was more than 112 years ago that golf was played in the Olympics. The game was played at the 1900 and the 1904 Olympic Games but then was voted out of the Olympics by the supporting membership. Things are changing, though. On Thursday, August 13th, the official committee voted to include golf, along with Rugby Union in the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games.

The ruling is not completely official yet. The International Olympic Committee must make a full vote and that will not happen until the October meeting scheduled to be held in Copenhagen.

How does golf get played in the Olympics? The currently proposed situation involves two, 72 hole tournaments. One will be for men, one for women. There will be 60 competitors in each of the events. To get there, the top 15 players in the world will automatically be qualified to enter the Olympics. From there, competitions will seek out the other players. And, to accommodate the events, the major golf schedules will be changed to meet the needs of the Olympics, to ensure all of the world's top players are available to play.

Whether they do play or not is up to the players. There is already talk about who will qualify and some players have weighed in on their likely decisions with many saying that they will wait and see. Tiger Woods commented that he would likely play, if he had not retired by that time. He will be in his early 40's at the time of the Olympic Games. It is doubtful that the Olympics would include a hole in one prize as a component of the competition but we at Foresite Sports are keeping our fingers crossed!

What are the Odds of Hitting a Hole In One?

A question often asked…just how hard is it to hit a hole in one on a golf course? By some estimates, on any given par 3 hole, the odds of hitting a hole in one is 1 in 12,500 attempts. Those odds may look like they are too high to be considered good, but when you consider the some of these other facts; you will see that those odds really do look good.

For example, the odds of hitting an ace on a designated hole, by an average player, are 1 in 12,500. However, the likelihood of hitting two holes in one during a single round jumps to 1 in 26,045,834. The odds of hitting back-to-back hole in ones, those odds are even higher at 1 in 156,250,000.

On the other hand, the professional golfer has much better odds. The professional golfer's odds of hitting a hole in one on a designated hole are just 1 in 2,500. That means if you have a full field of professional golfers playing in a tournament, which equates to 144 golfers in the event, then the odds of hitting a hole in one by someone in the field are just 1 in 22.

What does this all mean to you? If you are a golfer, you can see just how much work (and time on the greens) it will take you to hit your ace.

For those considering the benefits of hosting a hole in one tournament or even a shootout, the good news is that these odds can work in your favor. However, even if you want to avoid the risk associated with such win, contact Foresite Sports to learn how this type of insurance can help you to sponsor an excellent event without the risks.

Hole in One Wins Man Car

The news out of Chippewa Valley is exciting. Mike Kell became a lucky man when he hit a hole in one on the golf course last week. Mr. Kell was playing at the United Way golf tournament that held at Lake Wissota Golf Course. On the 11th hole, he sunk the ball with just one shot and that meant he received the keys to a Subaru Impreza.

Mr. Kell is not new to golf, having golfed for the last 45 years. He has been retired from Kell Containers for ten years now and spends some of those days on the golf course. He has played in the United Way tournament almost every year since it first started some 21 years ago.

As he approached the 11th hole, Mr. Kell glanced over at the vehicle. The 159 yard, par 3 hole was not one he thought he could hit the hole at one at. He did not think about the prize as he stepped up. He has hit a hole in one before, at a different golf course. Mr. Kell only plays at the Lake Wissota Golf Course one time per year so he was unfamiliar with the hole.

The United Way employee at the event was Chuck Frenette, who has been involved in the tournament for some time. He has not seen anyone win the hole in one prize since the tournament first started.

Hitting a hole in one is celebration enough for most people, but to win a prize for doing so makes it that much better. If your organization is considering such an event, using Foresite Sports can help you to cover the costs of the vehicle or other prize your offer. This way, when someone does hit that ace, you don't have to worry about paying for it.
