The PGA Tour in 2011

Golf.com asked their senior writers to project the “who”, “what”, and “why” for the PGA tour and its players in 2011. As we move into the New Year, one of the most obvious items that was addressed in the article was: What does the future hold for Tiger Woods? Also, coming in among the top 5 questions posed were: If Tiger isn’t number 1 who will be, Is Phil Mickelson the king of Augusta, and will the U.S. ever be able to regain the lead on the LPGA Tour.

Tiger Woods had quite a tough 2010 season to say the least. However, he did come out toward the end of the PGA season to play at the AT&T National event in Pennsylvania, to show what he had, or rather what he had lost, in his playless months of controversy. It was hard to ignore the downfall which his game took as a result of the constant media attention and the overbearing, ever present opinion of the media and the golf world. The AT&T National event, which he had won in 2009, he only tied for 46th in 2010. So we now ask ourselves, is this the end of the Tiger era? The guys at Golf.com seem to think, not yet. Even though Tiger managed to turn it around a bit in the later months of 2010 it cannot go without mentioning that many of the young guys have been able to significantly step up their game so even if Tiger can get back to where he was in 2009 and earlier the end of an era may soon be in sight.

So if Tiger isn’t number one, who will be? Golf.com writers have suggested it will remain the current number one, Lee Westwood. Although, Westwood is going to need to increase the frequency in which he wins events in order to keep his ranking. Martin Kaymer, however, has been hot on Westwood’s heals so it looks like it will be quite the battle for him to keep his number one spot if Kaymer keeps up his game. Kaymer has quite the game in and around the greens and Westwood is going to have to pick up his short game it he wants to stay number one. Westwood will be 38 in April so needless to say, at only 26 years of age Kaymer’s game is only getting better.

Will the U.S. ever be able to take back the lead in the LPGA? It seems with the large number of tremendously skilled golfers coming out of Asia, a golfer from the U.S. being number one will not be anytime in the near future. According to the Rolex World Rankings, there are only 19 Americans in the top 100 and only 6 of them are among the top 25. There are a few names out there that are definite competition but not anyone that appears to be number one ranking material, at least not yet. The names being thrown around are Paula Creamer, Alexis Thompson (who is a mere 15 years old), Michele Wie, and Cristie Kerr (who actually was ranked number one back in June of 2010 following her win at the LPGA Championship).

Ways to Raise Extra Money At Your Golf Tournament

Along with purchasing hole in one insurance, many of our clients ask us about other types of golf contests that we offer that may help them to raise even more money during their tournament. Foresite Sports also offers putting and shootout coverage which are both great ways to bring in some extra money. Whether you choose to offer your golfers the chance to win Ten Thousand Dollars by sinking a putt or a Million Dollars by hitting a hole in one you are sure to spark some extra added excitement during the tournament day! By selling raffle tickets throughout the day at various locations around the course you will get a chance not only to get to know the golfers playing in your tournament but you will also get a little time to talk with them about the special cause you are raising money for.

For the putting contest, you can choose to do a forty, fifty, or sixty foot putt. Most people purchase coverage for just one finalist but if you would like to purchase coverage so that you can select more golfers to take the putt you can certainly do so. The ten thousand dollar putt is our most popular and you can run this contest on the practice green. Keep in mind you will need to videotape this contest. Once you start recording you will need to video the golfer being selected and the measurement of the putt. Keep the camera running and back up so you get the one finalist, the length of the putt, and the hole all in the same shot. You will also need to have one person over the age of 18 who is not playing in the tournament as the witness.

The Million Dollar Shootout is sure to get your golfers excited! When the tournament is over pick one of the raffle tickets and give that lucky golfer a shot. You can do this on a par-three hole that measures 165 yards or you can use a par-four and measure the shot from the hole into the fairway. Again you will need to videotape this shot and you will need two witnesses over the age of 18 who are not playing in the tournament. One of the witnesses will need to be a PGA Pro or Police Officer.

Next time you give us a call be sure to ask one of our tournament consultants about adding one of these contests on to your hole in one insurance package for your next golf outing.

Young Golfer Hits First Hole In One

A hole in one at any age is an extremely exciting accomplishment. Some golfers go their whole life without an ace on their score card, so when Danny Wade was able to check that off his list at the young age of 8 years old, he was nothing less than ecstatic. The hole in one occurred when the father and son duo were playing at the Scotland Yards Golf Club in Dade City, FL. The two play the course close to 3 times a week and this was young Danny’s first hole in one, his father hit one here two years before.

Danny’s father said that he has always been a jokester, so when the hole in one occurred and his father didn’t see, he at first claimed he must have been joking and pulling a prank on his dad. Danny, who was celebrating on the tee box, was beside himself at the thought of a hole in one and once his father had seen the ball in the hole, both were jumping for joy on the green gathering some attention from the other golfers on the course.

Danny was a local star once his school got word of his ace. His third grade teacher even created a whole lesson plan out of his hole in one that involved the students measuring out the distance of the shot and seeing for themselves how great of an accomplishment the hole in one was. Danny is a great example of a young golfer with determination to continue playing the game and of course making more aces! Congrats to Danny from Foresite Sports, the leading provider of hole in one insurance.

Important Tips For Binding Hole In One Insurance

Before getting a quote online or giving us a call at Foresite Sports, there are three specific pieces of information that we will need to know in order to provide you with a price quote for hole in one insurance.  We will need to know the number of golfers (amateurs and pros), the yardage of the Grand Prize par-3 hole(s), and the value of the Grand Prize.  Once you are ready to bind coverage and complete the one page application form we will also need to know the date of the golf tournament, the hole number for the Grand Prize hole, the name of the tournament and the name of the golf course where the tournament will take place.

Even if you do not know the exact number of golfers when getting your initial price quote don’t worry.  Most of our clients either base their count on the number of golfers from their tournament the year before or they simply make a guesstimate based their invite list.  It is important to keep in mind that you can always change the number of golfer up until the morning of the tournament.  The change will need to be submitted in writing, either fax or email.  Once we receive your written policy change we will then issue a refund or bill you for the difference.

The yardage of the par-3 Grand Prize hole will depend on the value of the prize you are purchasing hole in one insurance for.  For prizes up to $49,999 the minimum yardage is 150 yards for men.  For prizes valued from $50,000-$99,999 the men’s tees will need to play 160 yards or longer.  Finally, for prizes value at $100,000 or greater the hole will need to be 165 yards or longer.  Ladies can play up to fifteen (15) yards closer than the men for all prize levels.

Finally and most importantly, your prize value.  For most of our new clients this is usually the most challenging decision.  But really this is the easiest choice since the Grand Prize is completely up to you.  We have many of prize suggestions on our website that will help get you headed in the right direction of picking the best grand prize for your golf tournament.  Whether you want to do cash, a new car, a motorcycle, or a golf vacation it’s completely up to you!

Hopefully these tips will get off to a great start in planning your next golf tournament but if you should have any questions do not hesitate to contact one of our knowledgeable tournament consultants.

Pricing for Hole In One Insurance

At Foresite Sports, we often get numerous questions about our pricing. How is it factored? What can I expect? Is this really going to be within my budget? These questions are important to you especially now when every dollar used to market or fundraise is critical to your business or organization’s success. For that reason, we offer our 110 percent low price guarantee. Remember, if you find a price from a legitimate competitor that is lower than ours for the same coverage, we will meet and beat that price by ten percent of the difference.

How Pricing Works

The following are some of the factors that affect the cost of the services we offer to you through our hole in one insurance coverage.

  1. How far is the hole? The distance must be at least 150 yards long, but the distance does make a difference.
  2. The number of golfers taking part in your event also plays a role in this pricing. Keep in mind that each golfer may take only one attempt at the hole in one hole.
  3. The value of your grand prize is also a factor. The good news is that this is up to you. We provide hole in one insurance for prizes up to a worth of $1,000,000.

If you have other questions about pricing with Foresite Sports, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. We are happy to offer you a no obligation, free quote for your next event. We are happy to provide you with the information you need to get the process started.

How to Pick Your Hole In One Insurance Provider

Foresite Sports is hoping you will stay right here and invest in our hole in one insurance, but it is important to select the type of contest insurance that is right for your particular needs. For that reason, you may be considering other companies as well. Before you make a decision on who to work with for your hole in one insurance needs, take the following things in mind. Compare several companies to determine which is the best one for you.

  • Check out the Better Business Bureau for more information on the company. This is a good place to see what complaints have been filed against the company but also to see if the company has taken care of those complaints.
  • Next, check the insurance company’s underwriters. You want to ensure that the company has the type of underwriters that are financially stable. One way to know this is to check what their A.M. Best Co rating is. This is like a credit rating for the company.
  • In addition to this, learn about the company’s customer service. You want a company that is willing to work with you and to meet all of your goals including on time delivery and one that abides by the terms and conditions offered to you.

We feel that Foresite Sports can provide the best possible experience for you and stands behind its name. You will not find a better provider for the coverage you need for your next event!

Hole In One News

At Foresite Sports we love to hear news about people making holes-in-one. For some it is a once-in-a-lifetime shot and for others it isn’t. To recent holes-in-one got our attention:

The first hole-in-one that we noticed came from a medical student. The Clearwater Gazette in Florida reported that:

“Harbor Bluffs resident Louis Michaelos scored a Hole-In-One at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club, Sunday, October 11th, on the 3rd hole – 199 yards. He was playing with his father, John Michaelos, his brother, Gregory, and his sister Elena.

Louis, the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Michaelos, was home for fall break from Nova Southeastern School of Medicine – Ft. Lauderdale.”

The second one came from a nine year old. Yes, a nine year old! According to Becky Sauers of Talahasse.com, nine-year-old Bryce Johnson aced the 126 yard 7th hole at Golden Eagle Golf Club. We also learn that the young boy weighs only 55 pounds, but can hit the ball over 175 yards. So whatever he currently lacks in size he makes up with heart and talent.

The article then revealed that:

“Bryce first picked up a club when he was two and a half years old. His mom and dad noticed that he had excellent eye and hand coordination and seem to hit the golf ball every time he swung at it. With encouragement from his parents he continued to practice hitting balls in the church yard regularly.

Young Bryce’s future looks very bright and we at Foresite Sports wish him the best. Before we forget, our congratulations must go out to both Bryce and Louis. Good job guys! We at Foresite Sports know the value of getting a hole-in-one. That is why we provide quality hole in one insurance for golf outing.  Prizes for hole in one insurance contests backed with our coverage range from brand new cars to airline tickets anywhere in the continental US. So make sure you tell your tournament director about us, so that we could set up one of these contests at your golf club. We can be contacted at 888-882-5440 and we look forward to serving you.
