Think you can play like a pro? Why not give it a shot! Golf Digest is running a contest giving the “average joe” golfer the chance to play like a pro at Bethpage Black the week of the 2009 US Open. The course will be in tournament conditions just as the pro’s will approach it for the championship. You alongside three celebrities will get a chance to attack Bethpage Black, one of the toughest golf courses in America. Think you can shoot under 100? The names of the three celebrities participating in the 2009 Golf Digest Challenge have not been given yet however last year included an all star lineup of Justin Timberlake, Tony Romo and Matt Lauer. The round will be broadcast by NBC on national television on June 21st as a special program included with the US Open coverage. Last year Golf Digest collected over 56,000 essays and had over 110,000 people vote on their favorite finalist and hopes to have an even better turn out this year. Any golfer can enter regardless of their handicap, all you need is a creative 6 word phrase that will wow the Golf Digest judges into picking you as a finalist.
