Odds of Getting a Hole In One

It’s the one thing that golfer’s would like to have done. It’s not easy by any means, and it requires some luck in the form of a perfect bounce. Of course we’re talking about a hole in one. Have you ever made one? If not, we at Foresite Sports strongly encourage you to keep trying. After all, all you need is one; one perfect shot that is! Anyways, what exactly are the odds of this happening?

Back in 2000, Francis Scheid, Ph.D., retired chairman of the mathematics department at Boston University shared his calculations with Golf Digest.

So what are the odds of someone making a hole in one in any round ? Any lucky guesses? Well, the answer is a whopping 3,125 to 1! Alright, on to the next question?

What are the odds of two players in the same foursome making a hole in one on the same hole?
Drum roll….ok maybe not. The answer is 26 million to 1. Good luck with that! It has been done, but those are truly some seemingly insurmountable odds.

Next up is Foresite Sports’ favorite odds: the odds of making a hole-in-one on a grand prize hole. These are pretty much the odds that stand between you and a million dollars or a grand prize. The odds of that occurring are 12,500 to 1!

Now for the special people. Those that have luck that never runs out. Some people have never ever gotten a hole in one, but these people have made more than one in one day. We’re talking about people who have dared to make two or even three aces in a single round. Ridiculous! So the odds of the same player making two aces in the same round are a strong 26 million to 1 whilst the mindboggling odds of the same player making 3 in one round are 488 billion to 1.

Anyways, don’t let these odds stop you from reaching your goal. Till then, we wish you the best of luck. For quality hole in one insurance you can call us at 888 882 5440 or visit us on the web at www.foresitesports.com

Need to Cancel Your Hole In One Insurance?

Imagine having planned a big hole in one event and it rains. What can you do? This is one of the most common reasons that individuals need to reschedule or cancel their special event. We understand that. If you do need to do this, you can contact Foresite Sports through email or with a fax within a business day of your event and we will cancel or transfer your coverage to a new date..

What happens if you need to cancel your event altogether? The good news is that we understand that situations arise and therefore you can get a total refund for your tournament, minus Foresite Sports’s $40 cancellation fee.

What happens if the skies open in the middle of your event, leading to rain and the inability to continue your tournament. If this happens, you will need to let us know how many shots were taken at the target hole. Then, your refund will be prorated.

However, keep in mind that there is no fee for postponing your event, even if you do not yet know the new date for your event. Simply contact us and let us know what is happening and we will ensure that your event can continue according to your original goals. Even if circumstances are unique, such as the weather clears up but the putting contest is not possible, we will help you to reschedule your event so that your US Hole in One insurance protection remains in effect. We want to work with you to have a successful event and strive to do so.

Hole In One Insurance Contests and Distance Requirements

At Foresite Sports, we get all kinds of questions on a regular basis. If you have any, please contact us. One of the most commonly asked questions is in regards to the yardage requirements for hole in one insurance contests. In order for a par 3 to be eligible for the golf contest, it needs to meet the minimum distance requirements. Each type of hole in one insurance contest has different requirements, though. There are also different requirements for men and women. Let’s take a closer look.

Hole in One Insurance Contests

This type of contest is centered on one hole, of your choosing. In this situation, the minimum yardage required is 150 yards for men and 135 yards for women. If the hole you have selected is not quite at these numbers, most golf courses do have about ten years of extra space on their par 3’s which means that you have the ability to set the hole up to include that extra ten yards. Just move the hole back. If you are taking advantage of the free bonus prizes for your additional par 3 holes then there are different minimum hole requirements for that. In this case, there is a minimum yardage requirement of 130 yards for men and 115 for women. This type of bonus prize includes items like the Callaway Big Bertha Irons or the roundtrip plane tickets for two.

Shootout Contests

For a shootout hole in one insurance contest, the yardage distance is a bit larger. This is because when you are conducting a shootout contest it is usually for a larger sum of money like $1,000,000. For men, the distance is 165 years and for the women it is 150 yards. Please also note that the shootout shot(s) do not need to occur on a par 3 hole.  You can simply set-up the shot at least 165 yards out from the hole on a par 4.  Many groups choose this option and place the shootout shot on the 9th or 18th hole because it allows those who are not taking the shot the ability to watch from the clubhouse or cocktail area.

If you have any additional questions regarding the yardage requirements for Hole in One Insurance or Shootout contest, please feel free to ask.

What Should I Give Away at My Golf Tournament?

When planning a tournament and finding hole in one insurance there are three important facts you need to know. The first is the number of golfers, this number can range anywhere from 25 to over 150 golfers. The second piece of information is the distance of the par three hole you want to put the grand prize on.  Foresite Sports has a minimum of 150 yards for any grand prize hole.  The third and usually the toughest decision for any event organizer is “what should my grand prize be?” Here are some suggestions!

While a cash prize is definitely our most popular grand prize, at Foresite Sports we offer a variety of sample prizes for all tournament. One of our most popular prizes is the Harley Davidson. Foresite Sports offers a $12,500 Harley Davidson Dyna Glide motorcycle for your grand prize hole. The Harley Davidson is a great way to increase golfer’s interest in the tournament and get them to sign up with the hope that they win a brand new bike! Foresite Sports also recommends that you contact a local dealership in your area and ask that they bring the bike out to the course. The visual image of the Harley on the par 3 hole will definitely excite the players about potentially winning the prize.

Other popular prizes that we offer are the golf vacation packages. Foresite Sports offers a St Andrews, Hawaiian, Pebble Beach and Spanish Golf Vacations all valued at $10,000. These trips vary from 5 to 7 days at luxurious hotel, flight accommodations and multiple rounds of golf at the surrounding courses. Keep in mind that Foresite Sports can offer any prize you wish to insure as long as you provide us with the value. If you are interested in something that you don’t see on our website give us a call and we will send you a quote!

A Golf Tournament Unlike Any Others on Tour

The Waste Management Phoenix Open is one golf tournament unlike the others on tour. The Phoenix Open is not only known for the great golf it produces at TPC Scottsdale Golf Course but also the crowd that follows the players. At a usual tournament the crowd is calm and well reserved; the Phoenix Open is a complete 180 degrees. The fans of the Phoenix Open want to see great rounds of golf and have a great time watching them. The tournament is known by some as The Wasted Open as many of the fans will visit the bars on the course and get quote rowdy during the tournament. This year there was an estimated 500,000 plus people that came out the watch, cheer, and boo the players.

Hole number 16 at Scottsdale has been called the scariest hole in golf due to the large grandstand which is more like a stadium surrounding the green. Many of the new golfers are intimidated by the crowds and fear the boo’s and taunts as a result of missing a putt or shanking an iron. Some of the more experienced golfers really enjoy the change of mood in the Phoenix Open and claim the cheers actually are relaxing and less stressful that the constant silence.

Overall The Waste Management Open is a definite change for the professional golfers on tour. It gives the professionals a look at what other athletes face on day to day bases. Similar to the cheering and mocking of a college basketball game, it gives the professionals a look at what other athletes face on day to day bases.
